Dear Mr Secretary General,

The World Council for the Cedars Revolution (WCCR) is extremely concerned about the events and developments in Lebanon today which have been perpetrated by the pro-terrorist sponsor states, Iran and Syria through their terrorist militias Hezbollah and other affiliated terrorist organizations.

Our information is that Hezbollah terrorist groups comprising of women fully armed, dressed in their cover clothing, joined their regular militias to block and close all roads leading to the Airport in Beirut. This is definite proof that Hezbollah is willing to use its arsenal against the rest of the Lebanese Civil Society
It has become evident that the Lebanese Army which is charged with protecting the whole of the nation and the people of Lebanon, has now become split along political and confessional persuasions; for a section of the army has stood with the terrorists in blocking the roads and has refused to re-open them for public use.

The World Council for the Cedars Revolution as an NGO, has already initiated investigations in conjunction with other NGOs on the ground in Lebanon, seeking to find out who were the officers who refused to fulfill their responsibilities and duties in providing safety and protection for the people of Lebanon. The results of these investigations will be forwarded to the respective authorities and to the United Nations Security Council.

Once again we see an opportunity for the Lebanese Army to demonstrate its loyalty to the people of Lebanon, yet even at such a low level conflict the army has demonstrated that it is not ready to accept the mantle of national security. The inability or the lack of desire on the part of the Lebanese Army to protect its civil society could be another indication of the Army having bee infiltrated by Syrian and Iranian officers. This is causing extreme tension once again for the people of Lebanon who are calling for protective measures particularly from the United Nations Security Council.

The WCCR has, since the July 2006 War and UNSCR 1701, been calling for the mandating of UNSC Chapter 7 for the stability of Lebanon and the protection of democracy as well as the Lebanese civil Society. Today more than ever before we are witnessing the beginnings of a new conflict with terrorists attempting to overthrow a democratically elected government and take the country to the brink of war once again.

We express in the strongest possible means our desire for the UNSC to mandate Chapter 7 immediately and allow the UNIFIL forces to bring much needed stability to Lebanon.

عزيزي السيد الأمين العام،

إن المجلس العالمي لثورة الارز (WCCR) في غاية القلق من الأحداث وتطوراتها في لبنان اليوم والتي ترتكبها الجماعات المؤيدة للإرهاب والمدعومة من دولتي ايران وسوريا وذلك من خلال ميليشياتها الإرهابية، حزب الله وغيرها من المنظمات الإرهابية المرتبطة به.

معلوماتنا ان مجموعات حزب الله الإرهابية تضم نساء مسلحه تسليحا كاملا مخفياً تحت أرديتهن، إنضممن إلى الميلشيا العادية بغية قطع وإغلاق جميع الطرق المؤدية إلى المطار في بيروت. وهذا دليل قاطع على ان حزب الله مستعد لاستخدام ترسانته ضد باقي المجتمع المدني اللبناني.
أصبح واضحا ان الجيش اللبناني االمكلّف حماية كل الوطن والشعب اللبناني، بات الآن منقسماً حيال المذاهب السياسية والطائفيه؛ لذا قسمٌ من الجيش وقف مع الارهابيين في قطع الطرق ورفض اعادة فتحها أمام العامة.

إن المجلس العالمي لثورة الارز، كمنظمة غير حكومية، وبالتعاون مع منظمات غير حكومية اخرى موجودة في لبنان، قد باشر تحقيقات، في مسعى لمعرفة من هم الضباط الذين رفضوا تنفيذ مسؤولياتهم وتأدية واجباتهم في توفير الامن والحمايه لشعب لبنان. نتائج هذه التحقيقات سترسل الى السلطات المعنية والى مجلس الامن لدى الامم المتحدة.

مرة أخرى نرى فرصة للجيش اللبناني لاثبات الولاء لشعب لبنان، ولكن حتى في هذا المستوى المنخفض من النزاع، اثبت الجيش انه غير مستعد لقبول مهمة الامن الوطني. إن العجز او عدم الرغبة من جانب الجيش اللبناني في حمايه المجتمع المدني يمكن ان يكون مؤشرا آخر على أن الجيش قد تم اختراقه من قبل ضباط من السوريين والايرانيين. وهذا ما يسبب، مرة اخرى، التوتر الشديد لشعب لبنان الذي يطالب بتدابير وقائية، بخاصةٍ، من مجلس الامن لدى الامم المتحدة.

إن المجلس العالمي لثورة الأرز (WCCR)، ومنذ حرب تموز2006 وصدور القرار الدولي رقم 1701، قد طالب مجلس الأمن لدى الأمم المتحدة باصدار قرار بموجب الفصل السابع من ميثاق الأمم المتحدة، من أجل استقرار لبنان وحماية الديمقراطية والمجتمع المدني اللبناني. اليوم اكثر من اي وقت مضى ، نحن نشهد بداية صراع جديد مع الارهابيين يحاولون الاطاحة بحكومة منتخبة ديمقراطياً ويأخذ البلاد الى حافة الحرب مرة اخرى.
إننا نعرب بإلحاحٍ شديد عن رغبتنا لمجلس الأمن باصدار قرار ضمن الفصل السابع فوراً والسماح لقوات اليونيفيل الى تحقيق استقرار يحتاجه لبنان بشدة.

بيـان

حان الوقت كي يحترم الرئيس سنيورة تعهدات حكومته
· تجريد سلاح المنظمات الإرهابية بمن فيها حزب الله
· وقف امدادات الأسلحة السورية غير القانونية للإرهابيين

يُعرِب المجلس العالمي لثورة الأرز عن بالغ قلقه من الحالة المزرية واليائسة للحياة التي تعيشها الأغلبية الساحقة من الشعب اللبناني. إن الظروف الاقتصادية شديدة القسوة تثبت ما تمرّ به الأسَر اللبنانية الكريمة من معاناة في سبيل البقاء. هذا الكمّ من الاختلافات المُفرِطة يحتِّم على كل وزيرٍ في الحكومة توحيد المسعى لإيجاد وتحقيق سياسات الحكومة التي تدعم جهود الشعب للإبقاء على الاقتصاد حيّاً. وفشل الحكومة في هكذا مسعى سوف يجعلها مُقصّرة في مهامها لإنتاج سُبُل كافية في التجارة والصناعة وسوق العمل يمكن أن توفِّر أسس معقولة لمستوى حياة كريمة لشعب لبنان.

من غير المصدّق أن حكومة متجذرة في أسس وقواعد التجارة الخاصة يمكنها أن تقف متفرجة فيما رسل الشر والتدمير يُقْدِمون على الاطاحة بعمل التجار المضني وأصحاب المصالح في وسط بيروت. حتى في الديمقراطية، مع الحريات تأتي المسئوليات. ومن مهام الحكومة ضمان تمتُّع كافة المواطنين بالحقوق والمنافع. مدينة الخيَم في وسط بيروت يجب أن تُفَكّ وتزال فوراً.

فيما يثابر المجلس العالمي لثورة الأرز على تقديم دعمه القوي للعملية الديمقراطية، آملاً في تأسيس استقرار ونوعٍ من حياة طبيعية لشعب لبنان، يجب أن يُفهم أن هذا الدعم للديمقراطية ليس دعماً آلياً لسياسة الحكومة. في الواقع نحن نرى أن الحكومة قد أحبطت الشعب اللبناني في نواحي أخرى ذات نتائج وخيمة على النحو التالي:
أ‌) نحن نرى أن فشل الحكومة أو لافاعليتها في نزع سلاح جميع المنظمات الإرهابية هو تصرّف غير مسئول يجعل الناس تعيش على "حد السكين" دون التأكد من السلامة أو معرفة متى وضد مَنْ سيحصل الاعتداء التالي. وتحدّ إمكانات اليونيفل إلى مجرد مراقب ودون سلطة حقيقية لمساعدة الحكومة والشعب اللبناني لتنظيف البلاد من خطر حدوث اغتيالات للموالين من أعضاء البرلمان أو قادة سياسيين ورجال أعمال. هكذا حالة هي أرضية مغذية للسلوك الاجرامي والتي تخلق قلاقل مدنية هائلة, وستؤدي إلى صراع داخلي وإسقاط هذه الحكومة الهشة.

ب‌) نحن نرى إلى الإداء الباهت للحكومة أو الأصح الإداء المعدوم في الحدِّ من قدرة سوريا على الاستمرار في تهريب السلاح غير الشرعي إلى المنظمات الإرهابية أظهر، بوضوح، التخلي عن مسئوليتها في الحفاظ على سيادة لبنان وتَرَكَ الدولة تحتَ رحمةِ أعدائها. في تصرّف حكومة السنيورة خمسة عشر الفاً من القوات العسكرية الدولية بانتظار الفرصة لمساعدتها في تخليص البلاد من جميع التدخلات الغريبة. متى تفعِّل الحكومة هذا الدعم في حماية الحدود اللبنانية مع كافة جيران لبنان؟

ت‌) يبدو أن حكومة السنيورة تتجه إلى لعب الورقة الطائفية. هكذا مناورة، تبدو وكأنها بالتأكيد صُمِّمَت لتهميش واحدة أو أكثر من الطوائف التي على أكتافها يقوم الاستقرار والتوازن الحسّاس للتعايش السلمي. وهذا مما سيغضب مجتمعاً هو في أعلى مراتب التحفّز، وهو قطعاً سيعيد البلاد مجدداً إلى حرب أهلية. وإذا ما أخطأت الحكومة في احتساب وجود فرص للإستفادة من الشعب، سوف تدفع ثمناً باهظاً للجشع والانتهازية إمّا في الانتخابات أو من خلال النزاع في شوارع لبنان.

في كلٍّ من االفئات المذكورة أعلاه، يدعو المجلس العالمي لثورة الأرز حكومة السنيورة للتصرّف بسرعة وحزم لما فيه مصلحة الشعب في لبنان. إن عواقب الفشل هائلة والشعب لن يسامح أبداً.

* It’s Time for PM Siniora to Honor His Government’s Responsibilities
* Disarm All the Terrorist Organizations Including Hezbollah
* Stop Illegal Syrian Arms Supplies to Terrorists

The World Council for the Cedars Revolution (WCCR) is extremely concerned at the poor condition and the desperate state of the quality of life currently being experienced by the great majority of the people of Lebanon. Extremely tough economic conditions are proving very testing for the honorable hard working families of Lebanon to be able to survive. This intolerable set of difficulties makes it necessary for every government minister to join in a united endeavor of finding and implementing government policies which would support the people in their efforts for economic survival. Failure by the government to make such an effort would render the government derelict in its responsibilities to generate sufficient levels of commerce, industry and labor market which would ensure a reasonable basis for a dignified standard of existence for the people of Lebanon.

It is almost inconceivable that a government so entrenched in the basic fundamentals of private enterprise, can stand by and watch as the messengers of evil and destruction deliver a deathly blow to the hard working merchants and business community of downtown Beirut. Even in a democracy, with freedoms comes responsibilities. The government’s function is to ensure all its citizens enjoy equal rights and benefits. The tent city in Beirut must be dismantled immediately.
Whilst the World Council for the Cedars Revolution has come out with consistent and strong support for the democratic process, in the hope of establishing stability and some form of normality for the people of Lebanon, it should be clearly understood that support for democracy is not an automatic support for government policy. In fact we see that the government of Lebanon is failing the Lebanese people in other areas of serious consequences, such as the following;

a) We see that the government’s failure or inactivity in disarming all terrorist organizations as an act of careless behavior which in turn keeps the people living on a knife’s edge without the certainty of safety or the knowledge of when and against whom the next attack will take place. It further limits the capability of the UNIFIL to a mere observer with no real powers to assist the government and people of Lebanon of cleaning up the country from the threat of further assassinations of loyal Lebanese members of parliament and other political and business leaders. Such a state is the feeding ground for criminal behavior which could create enormous civil unrest and that, could lead to internal conflict and the fall of this fragile government.

b) We see that the government’s lackluster performance or more appropriately zero performance in curtailing Syria’s ability to continue to smuggle arms illegally to terrorist organizations almost at will, has clearly demonstrated an abrogation of responsibility to preserving Lebanon’s sovereignty and has left the nation rendered at the mercy of its enemies. The Siniora government has at its disposal fifteen thousand international military forces who are awaiting the opportunity of helping the government rid the country from all foreign intervention. When will the government activate this support in the protection of the Lebanese borders with all of Lebanon’s neighbors?

c) The Siniora government appears to be moving towards playing the confessional card. Such a maneuver seems almost certainly designed for the marginalization of one or more of the other confessions on whose shoulders rests the nations delicate stability and balance of peaceful coexistence. That will infuriate an already highly combustible society and will almost certainly drag the Country back into civil war. If the government miscalculates the presence of any mirages of opportunity to take advantage of the people, it will pay a very high price for its greed and opportunism either at the ballot polls or conflict in the streets of Lebanon.

In each of the above categories, the World Council for the Cedars Revolution calls on the Siniora government to act swiftly and decisively in the best interest of the people of Lebanon. The consequences of failure are enormous and the people will not forgive.

لا يحق للرئيس بري باي مبادارات خارج المجلس النيابي واذ لم يتحمل مسوؤلياته فما عليه الا الاستقالة.....

علق الامين العام في المجلس العالمي لثورة الأرز المهندس عاطف حرب على ما ورد في أخبار اليوم حول مبادرات الرئيس بري بقوله: أن الرئيس بري، الذي جدد له بدون وجه حق كرئيس للمجلس للمرة الرابعة على التوالي، وكأن لبنان والطائفة الشيعية قد خليا من الرجال، لا يحق له، ولو من قبيل اللياقة، لأننا نعتقد بأنه نسي الأصول، لكثرة ما تفاعل مع الاحتلال، وتلقى من الأوامر المتناقضة والمخالفة للدستور، فاعتقد أن البلاد هي إحدى المزارع التي كان يتهم بشبابه الرئيس الأسعد والزعماء التقليديين بأنهم يعاملون الشيعة على أساسها، وإذا به يقرأ في كتاب أين منه ذاك الذي قيل أن الرئيس الأسعد قرأ فيه، فيرث كل الزعامات الشيعية ونظمها ولا يقوم إلا بتبديل بعض المحاسيب.
نعم لا يحق للرئيس بري أن يغلق أبواب المجلس النيابي، ويحل محله الشارع كمكان للنقاش والاعتراض وحل المشاكل وطرح الحلول. وهو لا يجوز أن يقوم بمبادرات ويشترط على الآخرين إما أن يقبلوا بها سلفا وبدون الاطلاع عليها وإلا... بل عليه أن يدعو من اختارهم الشعب واختاروه هو رئيسا لهم، ولو بغير وجه حق، إلى الإجتماع في مجلس النواب، وهو المكان المخصص لهذا الغرض، وطرح الاقتراحات ومناقشة المشاريع والحلول، لا التوجه إلى كل الأماكن ما عدى المجلس. فإذا لم يكن يتدخل كرئيس لمجلس النواب، فإن تدخله لا يجدي، لأنه لا يملك الحل والربط، وإذا كان ممنوعا عليه الذهاب إلى المجلس، كما يقول البعض، فإن إقتراحاته ومشاريع الحلول معروفة سلفا.

إننا ولو لم نؤمن بنوايا الرئيس بري، ندعوه كرئيس لمجلس النواب وكأحد أركان الطائفة الشيعية التي طالما ناضل بنوها ليكونوا جزءا فاعلا في استقلال لبنان، وقد كان المرحوم الشيخ محمد مهدي شمس الدين أطلقها صرخة مدوية؛ "أن لبنان هو الوطن النهائي الذي يجب التعلق به لا الارتهان إلى الخارج كائنا من كان هذا الخارج"، ندعوه لأن يكون على مستوى الاحداث والمسؤولية الملقاة على عاتقه، وأخذ المبادرة بدعوة النواب إلى دورة استثنائية لتدارس الأوضاع وعرض الحلول وتحمل مسؤولياتهم في إدارة البلاد، بدل أن يرموا بها على عاتق العملاء ليقرروا عنهم أو يتركوها للصدف، فالعالم المتواجد بيننا اليوم لم يعد يستطيع تحمل تفاهاتنا وتهرب الزعماء من المسؤولية، فإما أن يبادر الرئيس بري وغيره لحل الأمور والعودة إلى اللعبة الديمقراطية، وإلا فلا بد من دعوة مجلس الأمن إلى اتخاذ القرار الملائم لوقف التدهور ومنع التعدي على حقوق الناس.

نحن نقول ونحذر، بأن الكرة الآن هي في ملعب الرئيس بري بالذات ليتخذ القرار الملائم ويوقف لعبة الفوضى التي سترتد على الجميع بالويل، فأنظار العالم متجهة اليه وعليه أن يحسن التقدير ولا يلتزم المناورات المعهودة، والمجلس المنتخب من الشعب تحت أنظار العالم هو نقطة الارتكاز ومصدر السلطات وليس الشارع، فللشارع حق الاعتراض ولكن ليعود النواب الذين انتخبهم ليمثلوه فيناقشوا يكل تمعن وهدوء الأمور ويعتمدوا الحلول. وإذا كان الرئيس بري قد تعب من المسؤولية وبدأ يشعر بأنه لم يعد الرجل المناسب، وهذا ليس بالغريب، عليه دعوة المجلس وتقديم استقالته أمامه والطلب منه انتخاب رئيس جديد، وعندها فقط يمكنه التنحي والابتعاد عن أجواء السياسة التي لم يعد يشعر بأنه يؤثر فيها. هذا هو الواجب وهذا هو المفروض وليس أن يجلس في منزله ويستقبل الضيوف ويضع الشروط ويضيع الوقت، بينما على الدول العربية والعالم أن يتحملوا الأعباء ويصرفوا له ولجماعته من أكلة جبنة الدولة ومتقاسمي المغانم، الخوات المعهودة، وكأن الحكم والمناصب هي فقط لتنعم هؤلاء.

لقد سئم اللبنانيون والعالم هذا الوضع المتردي، وهذا هو بالضبط ما سعت إليه سوريا وحكمها الديكتاتوري؛ وهو أن تنسي اللبنانيين كيف يعمل النظام الديمقراطي وما هي شروطه، وللأسف ها هو رئيس المجلس يجاري نفس المبدأ، ويترك المؤسسة التي يرأسها تسقط بدون أن يحرك ساكنا، لا بل يساهم في سقوط النظام الذي يرأس، فهل يعرف ماذا يفعل أم أنه نسي ما كان تعلمه عن النظم الديمقراطية وعملها.

على حزب الله وزعماؤه في طهران ودمشق ان يفهموا
بان القوات الدولية خط أحمر............
....وعلى الدولة ان تبدأ بتجريد سلاح حزب الله قبل مغامرته القادمة

واشنطن- 14-كانون الثاني-2007

بعد ثبات حكومة الأكثرية النيابية في وجه تحرك ما يسمى بحزب الله ومحاولاته الهادفة لزعزعة الاستقرار في البلد الذي لم يستفق بعد من وهلة حرب كان فرضها عليه هذا الحزب والخسائر الجسيمة التي تحملها الوطن والمواطن، بدأ بعض قادته بالتطاول على قوات الأمم المتحدة التي تحاول تنفيذ القرارات الدولية خاصة 1701 الذي كان أوقف الحرب بدون أن ينزع الأسباب التي أدت لها، وهي تتمثل بسلاح حزب الله هذا وتفرده بقرار استعماله. من هنا يرى المجلس العالمي لثورة الأرز ضرورة التشديد على الأمور التالية:

- إن الحكومة التي كانت أخطأت للمرة الثانية عندما لم تطالب بأن يصدر القرار الدولي 1701 تحت البند السابع من القانون الدولي، وهي العارفة بعدم قدرتها على التحكم بالأوامر التي ينفذها حزب الله هذا، تعتبر المسؤول الأول عما يجري الآن من هجمة مركزة عليها تهدف لإسقاط النظام وعودة الهيمنة السورية والإيرانية على البلاد.
- إن حزب الله ومن لف لفه اليوم يعتبر مسؤولا مباشرة عن كل تعدي على النظام وكل تجاوز للقانون وما يجره هذا من ردود فعل.
- إن عدم اتخاذ القرار الجريء من قبل الحكومة بسحب سلاح حزب الله، بالرغم من كل ما يقوم به، هو خيانة وطنية سوف يحاكم عليها كل مسؤول لم يقم بواجبه بمنع الفوضى وفرض حالة الزعر وعدم الاستقرار وإفقار المواطنين وتهديد السلم الأهلي التي تجري اليوم بكل وقاحة في معسكرات الاحتلال في ساحة رياض الصلح، أبو الاستقلال والذي كان دفع دمه في سبيله.
- إن عدم إصدار أمر واضح وصريح للقوى الأمنية، وعلى رأسها الجيش اللبناني، بمصادرة كل سلاح يدخل الأراضي اللبنانية لغير القوى الشرعية حسبما نص القرار الدولي 1701، هو خرق فاضح وغير مبرر لهذا القرار ودعوة لعدم الثقة بجدية ومسؤولية الحكومة اللبنانية التي لا تقوم بالشق المتعلق بها لتنفيذه.
- إن القوات الدولية ومحاولة التهجم عليها، هي خط أحمر يجب أن يفهم حزب الله وزعماؤه في طهران ودمشق، وكل من تسوله نفسه التطاول عليها من قريب أو بعيد، بأنها لن تمر مرور الكرام.
- إن الشعب اللبناني وجماهير ثورة الأرز التي لم يرق لها أبدا عدم محاكمة المسؤولين عن حرب تموز وتجريمهم بالخيانة العظمى لن تقبل أن ينال إي كان من هيبة القوات الدولية.
- إن اللبنانيين والعالم لم ينسوا بعد جريمة التعدي على القوات المتعددة الجنسيات في 1983 وهم لم يغفروا لكل من شارك بها أو تستر على الفاعلين يومها، ومن هنا يحذر المجلس العالمي لثورة الأرز من محاولة العودة بالأمور إلى الوراء، وينبه من أن كلام التشكيك الذي صدر مؤخرا عن مسؤولي حزب الله وآخره إشارة زعيمهم السيد حسن نصر الله لهذا الموضوع هو لعب بالنار سوف يؤدي دون شك لحرق الأيدي التي تلعب به.
- إن الشعب اللبناني لن يرضى بأن تعيده ثلة من المأجورين إلى الأيام السوداء التي خرج منها إلى غير رجعة وهو لن يتورع عن طلب مساعدة العالم لضبط الأمور مهما كلفه ذلك من تضحيات.
- إن المجلس العالمي لثورة الأرز يهيب بالحكومة الطلب رسميا إلى مجلس الأمن أن يعود إلى مسودة القرار 1701 الأصلية ويوصي بتطبيقه تحت البند السابع من القانون الدولي الذي طبق في كوسوفو ونجح في فرض الأمن والاستقرار.
- إن المجلس العالمي لثورة الأرز يؤكد للبنانيين أنه لن يدع سوريا هذه المرة تلتزم موضوع الوصاية على لبنان مهما كلف الأمر وأنه سوف يدافع عن حق اللبنانيين بالحرية والسيادة والاستقلال مهما حاول النظام السوري والأمبراطورية الفارسية للتقليل من هذا شأن هذا الحق وأهميته، ومهما حاول زبانيتهما لزرع القلاقل والفوضى والتقليل من ثقة المواطنين بجدية العالم ومصداقيته في مساعدتهم للوصول إلى بر الأمان.
- وإخيرا يعود المجلس العالمي لثورة الأرز للتذكير بأن الحدود السائبة بين سوريا ولبنان يجب أن تضبط بشكل جيد ويمنع استعمالها لتهريب الأسلحة والعناصر المقاتلة، ويجب أن يتم ذلك بواسطة قوات دولية تمنع التسلل وتسيطر على الممرات الغير شرعية لنضمن عدم تدخل "الشقيقة" كما في كل مرة لخربطة الأمور وفرض نفسها وصيا على لبنان.

A Right is an Obligation

Kamal el Batal, the Human Rights Director at the World Council For The Cedars Revolution, submitted on the 14th of December 2006, an accusation before the Lebanese Judiciary against a group of public servants and of journalists and against their institutions. The accusation came after Mr. Batal has been subjected from this group to a severe slandering campaign.

Kamal el Batal submitted this accusation:

Believing that Human Rights are the basis of the development of society,

Firmly committed to Human Rights for more than 25 years, without asking for any form of recognition,

Because his relationship with and interest in the human rights victims are the only gauges he considers,

Because he constantly exposed all human rights violations, even at the expense of damaging friendships,

Based on his endless defense of human rights activists and of journalists, thus enabling them to accomplish their tasks and overcome all obstacles,

And because, first and foremost, he considers that all human beings have rights and obligations, working hard to convince everyone that the very first duty is the claiming of ones rights when they are violated.

Kamal el Batal hopes that every person would do the same when subjected to such behavior. He wishes to notify the society that as a result to this campaign he was questioned by many, received many suspicious calls, held many explanatory meetings, received warnings, threats, as well as letters of caution and others of clarifications.

Kamal el Batal hopes that the public opinion will understand his accusation, and that it encourages everyone to seek justice through the Judiciary.

UNIFIL without a Chapter 7 mandate is merely a mild mannered observer.
- WCCR rejects completely the interference of the Sudanese Mustafa Ismail in
Lebanese affairs

Dear Dr. Annan,

It must have become obvious to any responsible officer who is observing or attempting to contribute positively to negotiations which might help to bring some kind of a peaceful existence to the people of Lebanon. The UNSCR 1701 has stipulated a military personnel presence of thirty thousand, comprising of fifteen thousand from the Lebanese army and fifteen thousand from the international community. All disbursed along the Israeli/Lebanese border and the Syrian/Lebanese border.

The dilemma for Prime Minister Siniora is that his Commander of the Lebanese army General Michel Sleiman being a Lahoud appointee, is a close ally of the unconstitutional President and he too is pro Syria.

Prime Minister Siniora’s acknowledgement of Syrian arms being smuggled into Lebanon to Hezbollah and their terrorist allies was a cry for help. He is caught in an incredible predicament.

The Lebanese army has tens of thousands of Syrian and Iranian insurgents who have found their way to policing the Syrian/Lebanese border, thus allowing the free flow of arms from Syria to Hezbollah, the armed Palestinians, Hamas, Islamic Jihad and Islamic fundamentalists.

Prime Minister Siniora seems to be calling out quite clearly for the UNSC to effectively mandate chapter 7 to Resolution 1701 and allow the international forces to effect a total ban on the flow of arms and identify Syrian and Iranian insurgents and drive them out of Lebanon once and for all. After considerable consideration and from the onset of our recommended draft of what has now become UNSCR 1701, we advise that chapter 7 is absolutely essential if Lebanon is to have any chance of stability and redevelopment. It might even be necessary for a period of three to five years to allow the dust to settle and give people a chance to become accustomed to normal life once again in this beautiful land.

The WCCR is also extremely concerned at the involvement of the Sudanese Mustafa Ismail in the negotiations between the conflicting parties in Lebanon. Our reliable advice about Mr Ismail is that he has been the root cause of much of the conflict in the Sudan, which has seen loss of life in huge proportions. We the Lebanese do not need any further advice or solutions from other well wishing Arab diplomats who look to build a reputation at the expense of the honorable people of Lebanon. We have experienced their best with the Taif agreement which gave Syria control over Lebanon for fifteen years. All Arab nations watched from the comfort of their homes as the people of Lebanon suffered the tyranny of the Syrians and the reprisals of the Israelis because of terrorist activities against them from Lebanese soil.

The people of Lebanon have entered into a democratic phase. The opposition, whilst perfectly entitled to protest, must be civilized. By all means protest, it’s their constitutional right to do so, but a protest should end on the day it is held. The business and normal rate paying residents of the heart of the city of Beirut are equally entitled under the constitution to a normal life in business and at work.

If the opposition wishes to become a part of government, they must wait until the next democratically held parliamentary elections and hope they succeed to form or share in government.

There is absolutely no reason why the majority Siniora government should share power with a terrorist militia which is better equipped militarily than the Lebanese army. Let Hezbollah and other terrorists surrender their arsenal to the Lebanese government and then we shall all call for a unity government.

We call on the United Nations Security Council to be at the ready to protect Lebanon’s civil society in the event that Iran, Syria and their terrorist allies in Lebanon decide to attack and bring down the democratically elected Siniora government.

The International Lebanese Committee for UNSCR 1559 rejects the mediation of Mustafa Othman Ismael of Sudan in the current crisis in Lebanon. Mr. Ismael is the emissary of the genocidal President of Sudan, Omar Bashir. Sudan is responsible for the deaths of over one million South Sudanese and Darfurians and is presently, at best, thwarting the efforts of the United Nations aimed at resolving the present crisis in Darfur. Replace the Janjaweed in Darfur, with the terrorist regimes of Iran and Syria and their proxy militia, Hezbollah and the similarities become quite clear. Under the auspices of Mr. Ismael, events in Lebanon could turn out as disastrous as events in Sudan.

The Sudanese regime of Omar Bashir, with its horrendous records of human rights abuses, is only doing the bidding of its fellow Arab League member state, Syria and is allied with Iran and Hezbollah in their plans to overtake the democratically elected government of Lebanon. Mr. Ishmael is not welcome in Lebanon. Let him go back to his own country and stop the genocide in Darfur.

However, we welcome any Arab leagues initiative as long as they are part of UNSC and for full implementations of UNSC Resolutions 1559 & 1701

في ذكرى استشهاد النائب جبران التويني السنوية الأولى أصدر المجلس العالمي لثورة الأرز التالي: بعد سنة على غياب الصحافي الذي لبس الصحافة بكل هيبتها، وحملها بكل رونقها، وقادها بكل جسارتها، حتى أضحت بجد السلطة الرابعة، في وطن معذب تسيطر عليه جيوش احتلال لا تعرف لياقة في التعامل مع الناس، وتحكم بنيه أجهزة مخابرات هي وليدة قمة الأنظمة التوتاليتارية وقد تتلمذت على يد أساتذة القهر والظلم والاستبداد، وإذا به يطوعها ويتحداها قتخافه بدل أن يخافها وتحسب له الحساب بدل أن يأخذها هو بالحسبان. يوم كتب جبران مقالته الشهيرة «مع الحقيقة حتى يجف الحبر» كان يتحدى للمرة الأولى من لم يكن أحد يجرؤ على مجرد التفكير، ليس بانتقاده، بل حتى بعدم التبخير له. يومها وأنا أقرأه أحسست بأنه كسر القيد الذي كانوا يريدونه أن يمنع الكلام لينطفئ الحلم، فشعرت بأن لبنان لا بد أن يقوم. قال لهم بأنه سيستمر في المجاهرة بالحقيقة ولو كلفته دمه. وإذا به يرسم بهذا التحدي خط المستقبل، ويرفع شعار النضال، ليكسر جدار الخوف، ولسان حاله يقول مع منصور الرحباني «قوي قلبك وهجوم يا بتوصل على الموت يا بتوصل عل الحرية». كان جبران رفيق الكل وملهم الشباب. أخرج نفسه من معادلاتهم منذ هجومه الأول وحرر كلمته، ولو لم يستطع تحرير الكل. كان النظام المفروض قد نفذ على الصحف أكثر أنواع المراقبة إرهاباً وهي «المراقبة الذاتية» فلا حاجة لأحد أن يقول لك ما هو المسموح والممنوع بل عليك أنت أن تعرف حدودك بنفسك فتمتنع بدون أن يسألك أحد عن النقد أو مقاربة الممنوعات، وحتى الإشارة إليها، أما الأمثلة في العقوبات والانتقام فكفيلة بتعليم من لا يتعلم، وبمجرد أن يتذكر الصحافي أسماء كسليم اللوزي مثلا وكيف سلخت يده اليمنى التي كان يكتب بها ووضعت بالأسيد قبل أن يُقتل، حتى يرتدع من ذاته ولا يجرؤ على التفكير بالاعتراض. وحده جبران أخرج نفسه من تلك المعادلة ووحده صارحهم وقال لهم وللعالم ما لم يحب أحد أن يسمعه. نفتقدك اليوم يا جبران بعد سنة على غيابك، ونفتقد لقلمك الصارم والصريح ذاك الذي يعرف أن يسمي الأشياء بأسمائها بكل وضوح ولكن بتهذيب ولباقة. نفتقدك لأن الساحة تكاد تخلو من الأبطال، فهم يقتلون الواحد تلو الآخر من دون أن يرف للقتلة جفن لا بل ازدادوا وقاحة، فيوم قتلوك وقفوا عن بعد، أما اليوم فهم يقتلون مواجهة وفي عز الظهيرة ولا يحسبون لأحد حساب. نفتقدك لأنهم عرفوا كيف يفرقون بيننا وعرفوا كيف يستغلون ضعفاً عند بعضنا وسذاجة عند البعض الآخر، عرفوا كيف يربون في قلوب البعض حقداً ليس بالسهل انتزاعه، ونحن نعرف أنه إنما سيقضي بالنتيجة على حامله ولذا فالوطن والشعب سيدفعان الثمن قبل أن نتخلص من هذا الحقد ومفاعيله. نفتقدك يا جبران لأن الوطن الذي أحببت والشعب الذي فاخرت به والاستقرار الذي حلمت أن نتفيأ في ظله، يمرون كلهم في ظروف صعبة ويجتازون نفقاً آخر من الأنفاق المظلمة التي يدفعنا المغرضون باتجاهها. ويا جبران، يا من أضفت لاسم حملته مزيداً من الفخر لتزداد شلوح الأرز اخضراراً وجبال لبنان شموخاً، نحاكيك في عليائك أن تغفر لهم فهم لن يعرفوا أين تسير بهم الأمواج التي يعتقدون أنهم يحركون، وهي إنما تتهيأ وتتعالى لتقلب السفينة بمن فيها، فهل من نجاة في البحر الذي يهيجون إن هي غرقت؟ وأي مصير ينتظرنا إن نحن لم نحسن التدبير؟ جبران... يا قلباً كبيراً بحب لبنان ويا منارة عالية على رؤوس جباله، رفضت الرضوخ لتهديدهم ورفضت الذل والسكوت فصرت مارد الكلمة وملهم العنفوان وستبقى خالداً في سجلات التاريخ وعنواناً لمرحلة التحرر ومثلاً يُحتذى لكل المناضلين، وإن القسم الذي رددته وراءك جماهير ثورة الأرز سيوحد اللبنانيين ويعيد لهم العز والافتخار ولن يقدر المغرضون على قتل الحلم الذي زرعته في النفوس أو وقف حركة التاريخ السائر قدماً مهما وضعوا العراقيل أمام المسيرة أو حاولوا إرجاعها إلى الوراء». الكولونيل شربل بركات تورونتو 6 - كانون الأول/ ديسمبر

- We Respected You and You Trampled Upon Our Respect
- We Worked With You and You Betrayed Our Efforts

For the duration of your fifteen years of exile in Paris, you spoke and seemed to convince the Lebanese Diaspora that you were the champion of the cause for the restoration of Lebanon’s sovereignty, independence and democratic freedoms. Your supporters who were dispersed around the world, also in exile, proudly projected your loyal and nationalistic qualities. We were all skeptical nevertheless, we knew that we needed to begin the unifying process somewhere, so we took the chance on working with a group of people who supported a General, Commander of the armed forces of Lebanon, a man who was installed as temporary Prime Minister until a legitimate Presidential election was effected and a new government sworn in.

At that time, your loyalty to the people of Lebanon and your military background and training forced you into an almost fatal position which resulted in your exile. Your enemies at that time were the Syrians and their terrorist allies. Many people in Lebanon and the Diaspora admired your stand and commitment to your responsibilities. We admired even further that you were prepared to gather your forces in Lebanon and the Diaspora and work towards restoration of all that was dignified, great and honorable in Lebanon. Perhaps that was the only way in which you could maintain an effective role in the political arena in Lebanon.

You needed the support of the Lebanese Diaspora and we all of us worked with you, from all political, cultural and community organizations, we worked with you and with other political leaders who showed outstanding leadership in the unifying efforts to produce a combined and powerful movement which would ultimately move the people of Lebanon in numbers exceeding one and a quarter million people onto liberty square and drive the Syrians out of Lebanon in that famous and unforgettable operation known as the Cedars Revolution.

Despite the fact that you had not yet returned to Lebanon, you were one of the leaders of the Cedars Revolution. Your Free Patriotic Movement was there in force. Your participation was unquestionable and your anticipated return to Lebanon was anxiously awaited. Equally anticipated was the imminent release from prison, of the Leader of the Lebanese Forces Dr Samir Geagea.

Together with the return from self exile of the former President and leader of the Lebanese Katateb Amine Gemayel and the active presence of the Leader of the National Liberal party of Lebanon Mr Dory Chamoun, there seemed to be a wave of positive expectation by the people who had been oppressed for approximately thirty years by the Syrians and their terrorist allies.

The people of Lebanon welcomed you in glory with open arms and open hearts and paved the way for you to reach the pinnacle of your clearly stated objectives, but you misunderstood their welcome and their hunger for your presence and you have turned your back on them. That, they will not forgive.

The people of Lebanon placed their trust in you. They elected you and your team comfortably so that you can represent their dreams and motivations for the rebuilding of Lebanon and an honorable and dignified life for themselves and their families, but you have turned your back on them; and that, they will not forgive.
The people of Lebanon were prepared to work with you in the redevelopment of our nation, but you turned your back on them; and that they will not forgive.
Dear General, great leaders serve their constituents and not their enemies. Great leaders communicate with their constituents and not go off on a tangent without the knowledge and support of their public.

You were welcomed, embraced and elected to parliament because of your participation in the original movement of the Cedars Revolution, but you have turned your back on the Cedars Revolution and aligned yourself with the axis of terrorism in Iran-Syria-Hezbollah and their terrorist allies.

Your coup d’etat is in alliance with the very enemies who drove you out of Lebanon and against whom you fought for over seventeen years.

You are now being used by the terrorists to destroy the Cedars Revolution and the democratic freedoms it represents to the people of Lebanon.

Your operatives are roaming throughout the world in collaboration with Hezbollah in an attempt to generate pressure and bring about the fall of a democratically elected government in Lebanon.

You are losing your intellectual support by the hundreds. You are losing your political support by the thousands. By what authority do you take to the podium and pontificate honor and respectability to the great people of Lebanon who have demonstrated their greatness by their ability to withstand all the pressures of terrorist activities, assassinations of their elected officials and the continuous attempts to destroy their unquestionable right to a quality life as free people.

General Michel Aoun MP, are you not guilty of political corruption and manipulation against the very people who elected you? Your alliance with Hezbollah, an acknowledged terrorist organization by the United Nations Security Council, renders you vulnerable to the same classification. For affiliation with terrorists attracts the same classification. That puts you in direct opposition to the people who elected you. You should resign your position in parliament, for you may be deemed to be there under false pretences.

Before you drown yourself in the quagmire of terrorists, the door is still jarred open for you to return to the fold and take your position among the greats of the Cedars Revolution and protect the sovereignty, independence and democratic freedoms of the great people of Lebanon.

RE: Recommendations of the Iraq Study Group Catastrophic for Lebanon

Dear Mr. President:

Adopting the recommendations of the Iraq Study Group regarding the engagement of Iran and Syria will be suicidal to America's interest in the Middle East and will be tantamount to accepting defeat in the War on Terror. America's allies in the region will be dealt with harshly and the Cedars Revolution will be left to fend for itself, virtually defenseless against the terrorist Hezbollah militia and their fascist sponsors, Iran and Syria. Lebanon will be lost to the axis of evil and the enemies of America and the free world will be emboldened and will step up their offensive.

Thee Cedars Revolution is under siege-at present the democratically elected government of Prime Minister Fouad Siniora is surrounded by the dark forces of Hezbollah and their allies of the rejectionist Palestinian groups, Iranian Revolutionary Guards, and agents of the Syrian intelligence. The actions of our government over the next few days and weeks will determine the fate of those 1.5 million Lebanese (and countless others in Lebanon and the Middle East) who bravely took to the streets on March 14, 2005 to show their love of liberty and freedom and their rejection of intolerance, hatred and occupation. Mr. President, what will our answer be to their pleas? Will we deliver them to their oppressors or continue to support them in their quest for freedom and democracy?

To the worldwide Lebanese community, it was like a breath of fresh air when you decried the former US policy of making deals with dictators and totalitarian regimes in the Middle East to achieve stability and peace. Coddling these tyrants has achieved neither goal as Mr. Baker should be well aware. Indeed, the last vestiges of free Lebanon were brutally overrun in 1990 in exchange for Syrian cooperation in the First Gulf War while Mr. Baker was acting Secretary of State. Fourteen trips to Damascus by Mr. Baker in his capacity as Secretary of State accomplished nothing. Does he think that now that the Syrian regime smells blood it will relent and stop brutally assassinating Lebanese leaders or stop sending Jihadis into Iraq to avoid domestic problems? Will the Iranians magically stop supporting their proxies Hezbollah and the Mahdi Army before or after it develops nuclear weapons?

What is needed is even stronger support for our allies in the region and a policy of regime change in both Iran and Syria. We must redouble our efforts to breathe new life into the dormant democracy in Lebanon, support the leaders of the Cedars Revolution, the NGO's that promote democracy and pluralism and civil society in general, which had been under the total control and occupation of the Syrian military and intelligence for nearly three decades. This occupation was sanctioned by the Taef Accord, sponsored by Saudi Arabia and Morocco, and adopted by the United States and France under the stewardship of none other than James Baker. An event in history that set Lebanon back fifty years. . Excuse the chill running down the back of every Lebanese throughout the world at the very thought of a possible solution for Iraq, Lebanon and the rest of the Middle East with the imprimatur of James Baker. James Baker has once before sold out Lebanon to the totalitarian Syrian regime, and must never be given a second chance . The people of Lebanon are fully aware of the consequences.

Can the United States turn its back on Lebanon again? If so, it would create a catastrophe of major proportions. It would embolden and encourage Iran, Syria, Hezbollah and all of their agents to regain total control of Lebanon, and continue on their reigns of terror worldwide. It would almost certainly spell the beginning of the end of US Middle East diplomacy. Appeasement only served to strengthen Hitler in World War II; it will do the same for Iran and Syria.

سنة على غياب شهيد ثورة الارز جبران التويني

بعد سنة على غياب الصحافي الذي لبس الصحافة بكل هيبتها، وحملها بكل رونقها، وقادها بكل جسارتها، حتى أضحت بجد السلطة الرابعة، في وطن معذب تسيطر عليه جيوش احتلال لا تعرف لياقة في التعامل مع الناس، وتحكم بنيه أجهزة مخابرات هي وليدة قمة الأنظمة التوتاليتارية وقد تتلمذت على يد أساتذة القهر والظلم والاستبداد، وإذا به يطوعها ويتحداها قتخافه بدل أن يخافها وتحسب له الحساب بدل أن يأخذها هو بالحسبان.

يوم كتب جبران مقالته الشهيرة "مع الحقيقة حتى يجف الحبر" كان يتحدى للمرة الأولي من لم يكن أحد يجرؤ على مجرد التفكير، ليس بانتقاده، بل حتى بعدم التبخير له. يومها وأنا أقرأه أحسست بأنه كسر القيد الذي كانوا يريدونه أن يمنع الكلام لينطفئ الحلم، فشعرت بأن لبنان لا بد أن يقوم. قال لهم بأنه سيستمر في المجاهرة بالحقيقة ولو كلفته دمه. وإذا به يرسم بهذا التحدي خط المستقبل، ويرفع شعار النضال، ليكسر جدار الخوف، ولسان حاله يقول مع منصور الرحباني "قوي قلبك وهجوم يا بتوصل على الموت يا بتوصل عل الحرية".

كان جبران رفيق الكل وملهم الشباب. أخرج نفسه من معادلاتهم منذ هجومه الأول وحرر كلمته، ولو لم يستطع تحرير الكل. كان النظام المفروض قد نفذ على الصحف أكثر أنواع المراقبة إرهابا وهي "المراقبة الذاتية" فلا حاجة لأحد أن يقول لك ما هو المسموح والممنوع بل عليك أنت أن تعرف حدودك بنفسك فتمتنع بدون أن يسألك أحد عن النقد أو مقاربة الممنوعات، وحتى الاشارة إليها، أما الأمثلة في العقوبات والانتقام فكفيلة بتعليم من لا يتعلم، وبمجرد أن يتذكر الصحافي أسماء كسليم اللوزي مثلا وكيف سلخت يده اليمنى التي كان يكتب بها ووضعت بالأسيد قبل أن يقتل، حتى يرتدع من ذاته ولا يجرؤ على التفكير بالاعتراض. وحده جبران أخرج نفسه من تلك المعادلة ووحده صارحهم وقال لهم وللعالم ما لم يحب أحد أن يسمعه.

نفتقدك اليوم يا جبران بعد سنة على غيابك، ونفتقد لقلمك الصارم والصريح ذاك الذي يعرف أن يسمي الأشياء بأسمائها بكل وضوح ولكن بتهذيب ولباقة.

نفتقدك لأن الساحة تكاد تخلوا من الأبطال، فهم يقتلون الواحد تلو الآخر دون أن يرف للقتلة جفن لا بل ازدادوا وقاحة، فيوم قتلوك وقفوا عن بعد، أما اليوم فهم يقتلون مواجهة وفي عز الظهيرة ولا يحسبون لأحد حساب.

نفتقدك لأنهم عرفوا كيف يفرقون بيننا وعرفوا كيف يستغلون ضغفا عند بعضنا وسذاجة عند البعض الآخر، عرفوا كيف يربون في قلوب البعض حقدا ليس بالسهل انتزاعه، ونحن نعرف أنه إنما سيقضي بالنتيجة على حامله ولذا فالوطن والشعب سيدفعان الثمن قبل أن نتخلص من هذا الحقد ومفاعيله.

نفتقدك يا جبران لأن الوطن الذي أحببت والشعب الذي فاخرت به والاستقرار الذي حلمت أن نتفيأ في ظله، يمرون كلهم في ظروف صعبة ويجتازون نفقا آخر من الأنفاق المظلمة التي يدفعنا المغرضون باتجاهها.

ويا جبران، يا من أضفت لاسم حملته مزيدا من الفخر لتزداد شلوح الأرز اخضرارا وجبال لبنان شموخا، نحاكيك في عليائك أن تغفر لهم فهم لن يعرفوا أين تسير بهم الأمواج التي يعتقدون أنهم يحركون، وهي إنما تتهيأ وتتعالى لتقلب السفينة بمن فيها، فهل من نجاة في البحر الذي يهيجون إن هي غرقت؟ وأي مصير ينتظرنا إن نحن لم نحسن التدبير؟

جبران... يا قلبا كبيرا بحب لبنان ويا منارة عالية على رؤوس جباله، رفضت الرضوخ لتهديدهم ورفضت الذل والسكوت فصرت مارد الكلمة وملهم العنفوان وستبقى خالدا في سجلات التاريخ وعنوانا لمرحلة التحرر ومثلا يحتذى لكل المناضلين، وإن القسم الذي رددته وراءك جماهير ثورة الأرز سيوحد اللبنانيين ويعيد لهم العز والافتخار ولن يقدر المغرضون على قتل الحلم الذي زرعته في النفوس أو وقف حركة التاريخ السائر قدما مهما وضعوا العراقيل أمام المسيرة أو حاولوا إرجاعها إلى الوراء.

The World Council of the Cedars Revolution is deeply saddened by the recent resignation of the United States Ambassador to the United Nations, John Bolton.

Ambassador Bolton was steadfast, committed and dedicated in his vision of a Middle East, free of terrorism and oppression. He was clear, concise, and unrelenting in his work and in his view on the tough issues he faced regarding North Korea, Iran and the Middle East, and was the best individual to bring about reform to the United Nations and to the Middle East

Ambassador Bolton also worked towards ending human rights violations throughout the Middle East, more specifically in Lebanon, and for that he will be deeply missed.

President Bush best summarized this loss when he stated that “he [Ambassador Bolton] served his country with extraordinary dedication and skill, assembling coalitions that addressed some of the most consequential issues facing the international community. During his tenure, he articulately advocated the positions and values of the United States and advanced the expansion of democracy and liberty.”

The World Council of the Cedars Revolution extends its gratitude to Ambassador Bolton for his work towards the restoration of democracy to Lebanon, wish him the best for the future, and hopes that his replacement will continue the great work the Ambassador has done.

Christians Fleeing Lebanon Denounce Hezbollah

TYRE, Lebanon, July 27 The refugees from southern Lebanon spilled out of packed cars into the dark street here Thursday evening, gulping bottles of water and squinting in the glare of the headlights to find family members and friends. Many had not eaten in days. Most had not had clean drinking water for some time. There were wounded swathed in makeshift dressings, and a baby just 16 days old.

But for some of the Christians who had made it out in this convoy, it was not just privations they wanted to talk about, but their ordeal at the hands of Hezbollah a contrast to the Shiites, who make up a vast majority of the population in southern Lebanon and broadly support the militia.

“Hezbollah came to Ain Ebel to shoot its rockets,” said Fayad Hanna Amar, a young Christian man, referring to his village. “They are shooting from between our houses.”

“Please,’’ he added, “write that in your newspaper.”

The evacuation more than 100 cars that followed an International Committee for the Red Cross rescue convoy to Tyre included Lebanese from several Christian villages. In past wars, Christian militias were close to Israelis, and animosity between Christians and Shiites lingers.

Throngs of refugees are now common in this southern coastal town, the gateway to the war that is booming just miles away. The United Nations has estimated that 700,000 Lebanese, mostly from the southern third of the country, have been displaced by the war.

But thousands of people have been left behind, residents and the Red Cross say.

What has prevented many from fleeing is a critical shortage of fuel. Roland Huguenin-Benjamin, a spokesman for the Red Cross who accompanied the convoy to Tyre, said Red Cross officials had offered to lead out any people who wanted to drive behind, but many did not have enough gasoline for the trip.

Those who did get out were visibly upset. Some carried sick children. A number broke down it tears when they emerged from their cars here.

“People are dying under bombs and crushed under houses,” Nahab Aman said, sobbing and hugging her young son. “We’re not dogs! Why aren’t they taking the people out?”

Many Christians from Ramesh and Ain Ebel considered Hezbollah’s fighting methods as much of an outrage as the Israeli strikes. Mr. Amar said Hezbollah fighters in groups of two and three had come into Ain Ebel, less than a mile from Bint Jbail, where most of the fighting has occurred. They were using it as a base to shoot rockets, he said, and the Israelis fired back.

One woman, who would not give her name because she had a government job and feared retribution, said Hezbollah fighters had killed a man who was trying to leave Bint Jbail.

“This is what’s happening, but no one wants to say it” for fear of Hezbollah, she said.

American citizens remain in some southern villages. Mohamed Elreda, a father of three from New Jersey, was visiting relatives in Yaroun with his family when two missiles narrowly missed his car, while he was parking it in front of his family’s house. His 16-year-old son Ali was sprayed with shrapnel and is now in a hospital in Tyre.

“I have never seen anything like this in my life,” said Mr. Elreda, who arrived here on Thursday morning. “They see civilians, they bomb them,” he said, referring to the Israelis.

“We had to move underground like raccoons.”

He said a person affiliated with the United States Embassy arrived in Yaroun and shouted for everyone to join a convoy that the Israelis had promised safe passage.

He left in such haste, he said, that he had pulled on his wife’s sweatpants (they had a pink stripe running down the length of each leg). His son’s blood still stained his shoes.

He said Yaroun had been without electricity and clean water for more than a week, and he had stirred dirty clothes in a pail of water and bleach to make bandages for his son’s wounds.

The village is largely Christian, but has Muslim pockets, and Mr. Elreda said he walked at night among houses to the Christian section, where a friend risked his life to drive his son to Tyre, while Mr. Elreda stayed with the rest of the family.

On Thursday he joined his son at the hospital.

“He’s my son,” he said, standing at the foot of the boy’s bed. “I just can’t see him like this.”

The World Council of the Cedars Revolution is outraged at Hezbollah’s continuous and indiscriminate attacks upon the people of Israel. These attacks do not in any way represent the mentality, attitude and behavior of the great majority of the people of Lebanon, nor do they reflect the wishes of the current Lebanese government.

The Cedars Revolution has been working in a close relationship and partnership with the United States Government and the United Nations Security Council, seeking means and ways to disarm and disband all terrorist militias in Lebanon in accordance with UNSCR 1559.

We acknowledge that due to the unwarranted and inappropriate attacks by Hezbollah, Israel was compelled to carry out reprisal attacks which have proven to be devastating and most destructive of Lebanon’s infrastructure and economic development.

The World Council of the Cedars Revolution wishes to convey its support for Israel’s efforts to disarm and disband Hezbollah and all other armed terrorist militias in Lebanon. Given that Israel has committed itself before the world to crippling Hezbollah and all terrorist militias, anything less than that would be absolutely unforgivable by the people of Lebanon whose country has been invaded with such intolerable and catastrophic damage.

It would have been much more preferable for Lebanon not to suffer such a war. However, Israel now has an opportunity not to allow this type of conflict to occur again. Any result other than a complete eradication of Terrorist Militias will be deemed a failure and give rise to another conflict in the near future. With enemies such as Iran and Syria holding smaller and defenseless countries like Lebanon to tyranny and control, Hezbollah and other militant terrorist organizations will resurface. The only justification in Israel’s current behavior is to ensure that Lebanon will not again have to suffer the existence of terrorist militias on its sacred soil and the opportunity of peace between the two nations can become a real option.

Given that Israel has gone so far and continues to impose so much destruction on Lebanon and given that it has committed itself before the world to crippling Hezbollah, Palestinian and other terrorist militias, anything less than that would be absolutely unacceptable to the people of Lebanon whose country has been invaded with such intolerable and catastrophic damage.

It would have been much more preferable for Lebanon not to suffer such a war. However, Israel now has an opportunity not to allow this type of conflict to occur again. Any result other than a complete eradication of Terrorist Militias will be deemed a failure and give rise to another conflict in the near future. Re – Current affairs in southern Lebanon

The World Council of the Cedars Revolution representing the hopes and aspirations of the great majority of the many millions of Lebanese throughout the Diaspora is absolutely appalled at Hezbollah’s attacks on Israel, killing several Israeli soldiers and capturing two others; which has seen Israel, immediately carrying out reprisal attacks bringing destruction and devastation upon the people of Lebanon.

Our senior executives have on numerous occasions met with your Deputies and with Ambassadors of all members of the UN Security Council, strongly and emphatically expressing our desire of the UNSC to disarm Hezbollah and block the continuous supply of arms by Syria to Hezbollah, the Palestinians and other militias operating on Lebanese soil, fearing the occurrence and escalation of the events which are unfolding before our very eyes.

The people of Lebanon are innocent. All attacks against the people of Lebanon must cease immediately; and the only body which can make this happen is the UNSC. Hezbollah is armed and controlled by Syria and Iran; and that’s where the Israeli response should be directed.

It should be clearly understood that the World Council of the Cedars Revolution considers it absolutely unacceptable that Hezbollah should maintain any arms and must be disarmed as soon as possible. The Lebanese Diaspora is outraged at the UNSC’s soft approach towards disarming Hezbollah. We are horrified at the possibility of escalating hostilities in the Region. Such a conflict will have an intolerable effect upon the defenseless people of Lebanon who have only recently come out of thirty years of Syrian domination and tyranny.

We condemn this barbaric conflict and call on the United Nations Security Council to send urgently a UN Security Force to protect the borders between Lebanon and Israel and between Lebanon and Syria, until Lebanon’s territorial integrity could be safeguarded and all militias disarmed.

حرية الاعلام مقدسة وLBC خط احمر

بعد الهجمة البربرية الجديدة والمنظمة على المواطنين الآمنين في شرق العاصمة بيروت من قبل غوغائيي التنظيمات الإرهابية المستمرة في التزلم للخارج والرافضة لتنفيذ القرارات الدولية وخروج ما تبقى من رواسب الاحتلال (الحرس الثوري الإيراني وأسلحته الثقيلة، وجيوش الفلسطينيين التابعين لسوريا، وأجهزة المخابرات السورية) وتسليم أسلحة المليشيات وعلى رأسها ما يسمى بحزب الله ومساواة المواطنين تجاه القانون وانهاء حالات الفوضى تحت شتى المسميات، أصدر المجلس العالمي لثورة الأرز البيان التالي:

- إن التعدي على المواطنين وأملاكهم وخلق حالات الفوضى والتخريب هو أمر مرفوض يراد منه تصوير اللبنانيين بأنهم غير قادرين على التعبير الحضاري عن آرائهم ويعيدنا إلى أجواء مظاهرات السواطير التي كانت تنظمها المخابرات السورية وأزلامها.

- إن حرية الإعلام مقدسة بالمطلق، ويجب أن يعلم الجميع بأن هذه الحرية هي بالذات التي تميّز الأنظمة اليمقراطية عن الديكتاتورية وهي التي تحمي حقوق المواطنين ولا يمكننا التفريط بها مع أنه قد تكون لنا أو لغيرنا بعض الملاحظات على التفاصيل. ونذكّر هنا بالجرائم التي تهدف إلى كم الأفواه كتلك التي أدت إلى استشهاد النائب السيد جبران تويني وقبله السيد سمير القصير.

- إن محطة LBC (اللبنانية للارسال) هي خط أحمر لأنها تمثل رأي شريحة كبرى من اللبنانيين والتعرض لها هو تعرض للحرية ولن ننسى أبدا الشهيدة الحية مي الشدياق التي كان المقصود من محاولة قتلها أيضا إرهاب هذه الوسيلة الإعلامية.

- إن المطلوب من الحكومة وقف هذه التعديات ومن السياسيين جميعا رفض هذا الأسلوب من العنف المتمثل بالغزوات الإرهابية تحت شعارات مختلفة والتي تهدف فقط إلى منع التعبير وفرض الرأي على الغير بالقوة وإلا تعرض إلى الفوضى والتهديد والتخريب. أوليس هذا هو الإرهاب بعينه؟

- إن ما يجري في لبنان هو بالتأكيد إرهاب منظم وموجه إلى جماهير ثورة الأرز المسالمة والتي لا تزال تسعى إلى التغيير الكامل ليصل البلد إلى شاطئ الأمان ويتساوى فيه المواطنون جميعا. ولذا فنحن نحذر من هذا العنف الجديد الذي يهاجم الناس الآمنين في بيوتهم ومتاجرهم وشوارعهم ونطالب العالم الحر بالتنبه إلى هذا الخطر الداهم ووقف هؤلاء المخربين عند حدهم.

- يعتبر المجلس العالمي لثورة الأرز أن عدم تنفيذ القرار الدولي 1559 بكامل بنوده هو أساس هذه الفوضى وإعطاء مهلة للنقاش حول موضوع تسليم الأسلحة التي لدى بعض المليشيات والتلاعب على الكلام وأفعال التفضيل التي تميز بين المواطنين هي التي أدت وتؤدي إلى هذه الأشكال من الفوضى.

- إن ثورة الأرز هي رأس الحربة في مواجهة الإرهاب العالمي وهي بالتأكيد ستكون المثل لكل الشعوب المقهورة والواقعة تحت نير الإرهاب لتقف متكاتفة لصده ومنعه من الانتشار ومن هنا أهمية مساندة المجتمع المدني والمواطنين الآمنين في بيروت وكل لبنان لصد الهجمات الإرهابية على أنواعها وحصر الحقد والشر في منابته كي لا يتعرض هذا البلد مجددا لموجات العنف ويستطيع العالم تطويق هذه الأساليب البائدة التي تستعمل لقهر الشعوب.

- إن المجلس العالمي لثورة الأرز يساند الشباب الواعي الذي تصدى لهذه الهجمة البربرية الجديدة والتي كانت تهدف إلى نشر الفوضى والرعب بين الناس ويأسف لكل كلام يصدر عن أي مسؤول أو زعيم أو مرجع يبرر أعمال العنف وغزوات التهديد ويطالب الحكومة بإيجاد وسيلة لوقف "فرسان الدراجات" هذه التي تغزو الأحياء مهددة الأمنين ومعرضة الناس للخطر ويعد بملاحقة هؤلاء الإرهابيين العابثين بالأمن لدى أعلى المراجع الدولية.
